Finally, I have finished reading 'Outlive Your Life' by Max Lucado. I was pretty busy the past two Sundays. So last Sunday, I had make sure that I started to read it as much as possible.
Well, about this book. It has 16 chapters. Very systematic and easy to read. I love to read it as it relates lots of stories about different people with different attitudes about life.
I will quote a few lines from this book:
You've been given your life.
Your life will never be lived by anyone else.
In an effort to do good, we can get distracted.
Hopistality opens the door to uncommon community.
To do a good thing is a good thing.
To do good to be seen is not.
Categorizing others creates distance and gives us a convenient exit strategy for avoiding involvement.
But I love this phrase the most:
None of us can help everyone. but all of us can help someone. And when we help them, we serve Jesus.
This book was well written and should be read by anyone at all. It gives us the inspiration about life and thus find happiness in whatever we do.
Towards the end of the book, there are questions for discussion and ideas for actions which I find very appropriate and relevent to our lives.
I would recommend this book to everyone who love life.
