If someone is conscientious, that person strives to do what's right and to carry out his duties. Conscientious people show care and put in a big effort.
Being conscientious has to do with being careful,
thoughtful, and decent. A conscientious doctor will do everything
possible to help a patient. A conscientious teacher will spend extra
time with students, just to make sure they're learning. A boss wishes
every worker could be conscientious: it's a rare and wonderful trait. To
be conscientious, you have to be willing to do the right thing even
when it's difficult. Unfortunately, many people aren't conscientious.

yes and my youngest brother too.
My ex-boss described me as conscientious in the recommendation letter that he gave me when I left the company. At that time I was not familiar with this word. Now I understand better with your post.
When I initially left a comment I appear to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments
are added- checkbox and from now on every time a comment is added I recieve
4 emails with the same comment. Is there a way you can remove me from that service?

It is such a nice-sounding word with equally good meaning. True, many people aren't conscientious, but the few other who are sure are great people to be with.
